Expecting the Unexpected

from podcast, “Finding Forward in Grief”

Always “Expect the Unexpected.” It is not fun to have problems come up in our life, but it is downright sad and tragic when true loss occurs… However, by embracing the fact that we cannot control every minute detail and outcome in our lives, we better prepare ourselves to face those intense, unexpected events. Fear is a normal part of the experience, but learning to walk through our fear, instead of letting it shut us down, can better equip us to continue forwarding. I believe it is a learned skill that, unfortunately, requires real-life practice. Nevertheless, it is important to address and acknowledge in order to develop a stronger, sounder mindset—especially in grief and loss.
